About

The Office of University Advancement is about creating relationships.

We are focused on the priorities of Georgia Southern University, and as we look at these priorities, we examine which alumni, friends, parents, corporations and foundations can partner with us in making them into realities.

In today’s economic climate, the University has found itself with fewer and fewer state and federal funds, making partnerships such as these a necessity not only for special initiatives but also for the basic functions of operation.

In University Advancement, however, we are excited about the great things our relationships have already accomplished for the University and its students, and we continue to look forward to what our donors will help us to accomplish in the future.

Vision

To become a national model for innovative relationship building, to inform, intrigue and inspire our alumni, friends and the public in support of Georgia Southern University’s goal to become a top national comprehensive research University.

Mission

The Division of University Advancement is vested with the responsibility of raising philanthropic support, promoting visibility and credibility, and cultivating friends in order to help ensure the fiscal sustainability of Georgia Southern University.
