Dear Friends,
There’s an anonymous saying that fits our campaign: “The best time to plant a tree was 30 years ago, and the second-best time to plant a tree is now.”
Our University’s successes have skyrocketed: in the classroom, on three campuses, in the communities where we operate, and in the hearts and minds of people we impact. Georgia Southern plays a critical role in the economic growth and transformation of Southeast Georgia. You, our supporters, have made our achievements possible by providing Georgia Southern with resources—beyond what the State can provide—to build a significant margin of excellence.
Our University is ready to soar to an even higher level. New companies and people are moving to the region, the ports are thriving, and the need for research to serve our local communities grows. We are focused on how Georgia Southern will continue to lead and grow in tandem with Southeast Georgia.
Now is the time to build on our successes and secure a strong legacy for Georgia Southern in the 21st Century. We hope you will join us in shaping our University and the region by supporting Together We Soar – The Campaign for Georgia Southern.

Our Priorities
Student Success
- Stimulate learning for all by recruiting high-achieving students by growing merit-based scholarship endowment
- Increase student access to enroll, experience the full breath of Georgia Southern, and graduate debt-free through need-based scholarships for tuition and to bridge the gap for related expenses
- Promote inclusive excellence and career readiness through multi-cultural, high-impact opportunities like study abroad, internships, externships, and research
Teaching and Public Impact Research
- Meet regional economic needs through public impact research by expanding programs and partnerships
- Increase faculty expertise and department productivity by endowing faculty positions within defined growth areas
- Increase research capacity by acquiring high-tech equipment
Athletics
- Attract and retain elite student-athletes by providing robust, competitive packages within our 17 NCAA Division I programs through endowed scholarships
- Position our student-athletes to compete at the highest level through excellent facilities
- Boosting the Competitive Excellence Fund to recruit and retain the best coaching staff
Campuses and Community Vibrancy
- Improve the communities surrounding our three campuses through education, leadership, and innovation by partnering University students and programs with local organizations and businesses
- Teach about local wildlife by endowing the Center for Wildlife Education and the Lamar Q. Ball, Jr. Raptor Center
- Improve our campuses by leveraging State and philanthropic support to preserve, build, and renovate key spaces
